What's happening at Brooklyn?

Seasonal White House Sale will take place November 19 -- 22. The sale will be open 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturday. We are looking for volunteer for 3 or 4 hour shifts. We need help in setting up and general running of the sale the day of the sale, and many other ways. Please let us or the church office know if you are interested or able to help in any way, Also check out some of the items in the sale on the Mega Sale pages.

Our bell choir, Sounds of Grace, needs help. If you would like to learn to participate with the bells without making a permanent commitment at this time, why not look into being a substitute. If you have some music background and can read music, contact Jan Potasnak at 763-425-9570 and find out if it would work for you!

African Cultural Ministry is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Brunch November 23rd from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. We are inviting the entire congregation. Come and enjoy some African and American food while connecting and building relationships. Please sign up in the office by November 16th. 763-561-1684.

This year's Gala, A Homegrown Christmas, is scheduled for Sunday, December 7th. This year our many music and worship groups will be presenting their music and dance, along with an old fashioned carol sing. The Silent Auction begins at 2:00 pm and the concert begins at 3:00 pm. Admission is $15.00 for adults with 18 & under free. Tickets are now on sale in the church office and will be available at the door.

Work has begun to find items for the silent auction as part of this year's Gala. We need all types of donations such as cabin stays, hotel and restaurant gift cards, retail gift cards, new or like new gift items, antiques, musical instruments, etc. We would also like to invite new members to join the planning committee. WE HAVE FUN and make a big dent in the general fund for the church. For more information on the Gala Committee click here or to volunteer, contact the Gala Committee via email.

Mark Sunday December 14th on your calendar because itís Cookie Walk time! Thatís right, time to bake one type, and then stock up on all the variety of Christmas cookies we will have. Put them in your freezer if you want them to last till Christmas, or just get started now on the treats of the season. They make great gifts for family and friends. Come early for the best selection, just $6.00 a pound. All proceeds go to missions. Any questions, call Kathy Carter at 763-424-2631.

Do you have an event that we should know about? Let us know or we can't help!

From the UMCOR site: As the Ebola virus spreads in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, The United Methodist Church continues to be present and respond through West African United Methodist church leaders and regional health boards, denominational health facilities, missionaries, and the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the churchís humanitarian aid and health unit. Click here to read the entire article and for additional information check here and here. If you wish to contribute to this effort, write a check to BUMC and note on the bottom of the check that it should go to UMCOR International Disaster Response Advance #982450. If you would prefer to donate items rather than money, a list can be found in the office.

Have you ever misplaced your Circuit Rider? Check out the Circuit Rider page! The December  issue is now posted. And while your there, why not tell us that you would rather pick up the Circuit Rider online, rather than having it mailed to your home.

Do you have a joy or concern? Prayer is a powerful tool for expressing your joys and concerns. We have Pastors and Lay people who pray daily. Tell us what you would like us to include in our prayers by clicking on the praying hands.
