The 150th year of Brooklyn
United Methodist Church
promises to be filled with memories of the past
and hopes of the future.

The year long
celebration began with dedicating the Heritage Quilt that was made
for the 125th anniversary by the UMW. The quilt was
presented to the congregation on Sunday, January 18th. |
On Sunday, January 25th,
Chuck Purdham gave the sermon at both the 9:00 and 10:30 services.
Between services, cake and coffee was served in Chuck's honor.

Chuck, a son of Brooklyn,
felt an early call into ministry. After service in WWII, he entered
the seminary. As an ordained minister, he pastored many churches in
Minnesota, was Program Director of the MN Conference and District
Superintendent of the Metro-East District. Upon retirement, Chuck
and his wife Alice returned to Brooklyn Church.
