Family Fellowship! Our May event will be held at Brooklyn on May 18th at 6:30PM. We’ll form groups and scavenge up some treasure using different rooms in the church and outside, weather permitting. Then we hope to enjoy some ice cream sundaes. Bring your favorite ice cream topping to share and a spirit of fun! Sign up is in the Fellowship Hall by the chair/table closet or email so we can plan the right amount of clues and ice cream! The Footworks Foot Care Clinic will return to BUMC on Monday, May 21st from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Clinic services include: Foot soak, Toenail trimming, Corn/Callous removal, and Foot massage. Cost is $30. This clinic is open to the community and spots are filling up quickly.  To make an appointment by calling the Church Office at 763-561-1584.

If you would like to celebrate Marilyn's retirement during the annual conference in St. Cloud, here is your chance. On May 30th there will be a casual dinner/buffet starting at 6:00pm followed by a worship service at 7:00pm honoring the retirees followed by reception. The cost is $18 and RSVP is required by May 23rd for the meal and may be given to Jill Michael, or by contacting the church office at 763-561-1684 or by email.

Retirement Party! We are planning a special get-together after Marilyn's last service on June 10th. This will include a potluck, so if you have a special dish or dessert that you would like to prepare and bring, please contact the church office at 763-561-1684 or send an email. Marilyn's last service will be a special time to to recognize and thank her for the many years of service to BUMC and the community.

Vacation Bible School is coming! Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. At Sky, kids discover that everything is possible with God! Sky is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Sciency-Fun Gizmos,, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the Sky activities that help faith flow into real life. Cost is $24 per child, $40 per family before June 1, 2012. $28 per child, $44 per family June 1 and after. Please make checks payable to BUMC. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Brooklyn Center will be held at Brooklyn Center High School on July 13th & 14th, 2012. This inspiring event unites the entire community in celebrating those who have had cancer, remembering loved ones lost, and providing an opportunity to fight back against the disease. Relay For Life supports the Society's mission to save lives by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back. Brooklyn UMC Relay's team is the "Brooklyn Breeze". There will be different fundraising events from now until the Relay in July. We will start selling Luminary bags for $10 next month. These will be displayed at the relay. Also, Malmborg's and Scoreboard Pizza of Brooklyn Center will be offering a portion of the proceeds of your purchase to be designated for the "Brooklyn Breeze" relay team. If you would like to be a part of this team please sign up with either Peggy Strickland or Ada Beh.

The Mega Sale is coming! Please keep the sale in mind as you find things that you no longer need. Let friends know that we will accept good clean clothing, furniture, working appliances, cars, boats, campers and power tools. The White House Breezeway is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to drop items off. If you are able to box by categories and label them, it helps the sorters a lot. If you are dropping off Furniture or need it picked up, please call the church office (763) 561-1684.
