Dominus Flevit (The Lord Wept) was built in 1955 to commemorate Jesus weeping over Jerusalem.  (Matthew 23:37-39).

As you enter the church grounds you will see many ossuaries (tombs) that were found during excavations from 1953 - 1955.  On the ossuaries are found many crosses and inscriptions written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.  Along with many NT names such as Mary, Martha, Matthew, Joseph & Jesus.
