Mount Scopus overlooks the old city of Jerusalem.  It was from here that the Romans planned and launched their attack that destroyed the city in 70 A.D., and where the crusaders took siege of the city in 1099 A.D.  The Hebrew University and Hadassh Medical Center are both located on Mount Scopus.
