 Our
Director of Music, Michael
Anderson, is responsible for all of the worship arts at BUMC.
Michael directs the Sanctuary, Contemporary, Youth and Brass
Choirs as well as the Praise Band. He has
worked in the United Methodist Church for over 18 years and is a past president of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music, Worship
and the Arts.

Michael is a guitarist, vocalist, percussionist, trumpeter,
and an instrumental and choral conductor. He has
pursued his music and theological studies at the College of St. Benedict
- St. John's University, University of Minnesota and United
Theological Seminary. He is a former member of the Dale Warland
Singers and the Minnesota Chorale. He also sings and plays in a
local rock band called the Boomers. For more information click

Our Organist and principal pianist, Karla Stroman, is in her tenth year as full-time Music Instructor/Choral Director at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park. She has been involved in several professional organizations and is currently serving as president of the State Fine Arts Council for MNSCU Two Year Colleges. Karla resides in Brooklyn Park with her three sons and has been very active in the Band Boosters at Park Center High School and works extensively with the Park Center Pirates Marching Band. |
